The Pistons had a west coast road trip going coming back from the Clippers game to play Seattle at home, then had trouble with the plane and the weather, got diverted to another airport had a bus ride and arrived at Boston a little late and very tired.
It showed as Boston went on a 17 - 3 lead and the Pistons scrambled all night to catch up. Finally the Pistons caught up at 69 all, but it did not matter as the Pistons had no legs and missed open shot after open shot.
Give Boston credit. Allen and Pierce were not really factors, but Garnett was hot and Kendrick Perkins played out of his mind.
Kendrick Perkins had a career-high 20 rebounds to go with his 10 points for the Celtics.
The PistonsSheed played a great game even after spraining his left ankle. Wallace had 23 points.
Chauncey came on in the 3rd quarter to take over the game. He ended up with 23 points with 14 out of 15 free throws. It seemed like Chauncey was fouled on every trip up the court in the third quarter when he had 18 points and made all 11 of his free throws.
