White Sox scout Lowry
The White Sox sent a scout to Scottsdale to watch San Francisco left-hander Noah Lowry pitch against Texas. The scout didn't see much to get excited about, according to a witness. Lowry walked seven and heaved two wild pitches in the first inning. In the second, Lowry walked the first two batters on nine pitches, then threw a pickoff attempt into the stands before Giants manager Bruce Bochy pulled him. Lowry didn't strike out any of the 12 batters he faced. Lowry is signed through 2009 at about $6.75 million, but the Sox might be better served settling for a package of prospects including left-hander Jonathan Sanchez in any deal involving third baseman Joe Crede.
